On 4 May, the UK government update on COVID-19 included the following statement:
‘Construction work plays an important role in ensuring public safety and provision of public services. It can continue if done in accordance with the social distancing guidelines where possible’.
The government view then is that construction can continue as long as sites implement suitable controls and it is safe to do so. Our Managing Director has produced an article with RICS discussing the opening up of construction sites and the additional control measures which should be put in place to manage the risk and spread of COVID-19 on construction sites.
