I am a health and safety advisor and construction design and management (CDM) co-ordinator at Baily Garner (Health & Safety) Ltd. I started working here in October 2006 after graduating from Bournemouth University with a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management. It was through my studies that I developed an interest in health and safety and I have been fortunate enough to find a role at Baily Garner (Health & Safety) Ltd which allowed me to develop as a health and safety advisor as well as building on my knowledge of environmental management by developing services in waste management and environmental management systems.
My role involves delivering general health and safety advice to clients, carrying out health, safety and environmental inspections and audits for a variety of organisations in different industrial sectors, producing site waste management plans, as well as carrying out the role of CDM co-ordinator on construction projects.
My responsibilities within the office include managing our in-house environmental management system and maintaining our ISO 14001 accreditations as well as heading up our 18001 team.
The best thing about working at Baily Garner is the fantastic team we have. I work away from the office the majority of the time but it is always nice to see everyone in the office on a Monday morning, even if I do get laughed at for eating all the cakes and biscuits. We have a good team that are as happy to help each other as they are to help our clients.
